Our History
  • FND Biotech, Inc. was co-founded by ​ Dr. Wesley Hsiao and established in Taiwan in 2016 for the purpose of further development of Fluorescent Nanodiamond (FND)-enabled biotechnologies pioneered by Dr. Huan-Cheng Chang at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences (IAMS) of Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan.
  • FND Biotech, Inc. is the only company received the exclusive technology transfer of Fluorescent Nanodiamonds (FNDs) patented by Dr. Huan-Cheng Chang (US 8168413 B2 Luminescent diamond particles).
  • FND Biotech, Inc. has built a fully-integrated and talented research and development (R&D) group, providing solutions and strategies that capitalize on the group members' extensive expertise in Fluorescent Nanodiamond (FND)-based technologies to help our users succeed.
  • With patents on Fluorescent Nanodiamond (FND)-based technologies, we possess strong intellectual property rights, innovation, and technical know-how in the field. The current production line includes innovative and high-quality products of Fluorescent Nanodiamonds.
FND's Story
  • In 2005, Dr. H.-C. Chang's group was first shown Fluorescent Nanodiamonds to be useful in cellular fluorescence imaging (published in J Am Chem Soc).
  • In 2008, Dr. H.-C. Chang's group proposed a mass production method of Fluorescent Nanodiamonds (published in Nature Nanotechnology).
  • In 2012, Dr. H.-C. Chang received the U.S. patent of Fluorescent Nanodiamonds (US 8168413 B2 luminescent diamond particles).
  • In 2013, Dr. H.-C. Chang's group used Fluorescent Nanodiamonds for in vivo lung stem cell tracking in mice (published in Nature Nanotechnology).
  • In 2016, Dr. H.-C. Chang & Academia Sinica agreed to grant the exclusive technology transfer of Fluorescent Nanodiamonds to FND Biotech, Inc.
  • In 2016, FND Biotech becomes the supplier for myraid world-renowned research institutes, e.g., Academia Sinica (Taiwan), Max Planck (Germany), CNRS (France), UTokyo (Japan), etc.
  • In 2016, FND Biotech is able to prodcue high quality 10~20 nm FNDs.
